I’m Rick Hogan, an employee benefits broker and consultant with Compass Insurance Advisors | Group Benefits. I’m based in Draper, Utah, and I work with employers across the Western U.S. My lane is group health and benefits strategy, and my north star is simple: clarity, transparency, and control.

I design and manage employer benefits programs that compete for talent without ballooning costs. I specialize in alternative funding strategies—self-funded and level-funded arrangements, captives, MERPs—and pair them with reference-based pricing, fair-market cash pay options, international pharmacy solutions, transparent PBM partners (like VitoriRx), and concierge/member advocacy to improve the experience.

Compliance is built in, not bolted on. I support ACA (including ALE and pay-or-play), DOL, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, CHIPRA, Medicare Part B notices, the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, and Michelle’s Law—plus HR support, employee communications, and ongoing education so teams know what they have and how to use it.
